How to create a same-page named anchor in dotCMS
There are 2 steps in creating a Named Anchor in dotCMS:
  1. Insert an anchor name.
  2. Insert a link with a named anchor.


Step 1: Insert an Anchor Name
  1. Go to http://webdb.macalester.edu/admin and log in with your Macalester username and password.

  2. Navigate to the page that will appear when the link is clicked. Open it and click Edit Content.

  3. Under Actions, click Lock for Editing.

  4. Place the insertion point of the anchor's location, usually to the left of a word or phrase.

  5. From the WYSIWYG editor, click the Anchor tool.



  6. The Insert/Edit Anchor dialog box appears. In the Anchor Name field, enter the name of the anchor.

    Anchor names must:

    - Be unique across the page.
    - Contain no spaces.
    - Be typed in lowercase letters.



  7. Click Insert. An anchor icon appears where your insertion point was placed.



  8. Click Save / Publish.


Step 2: Insert link with named anchor.
  1. Navigate to the page that will appear when the link is clicked. Open it and click Edit Content.

  2. Under Actions, click Lock for Editing.

  3. Type the name of the link and select it.

  4. From the WYSIWYG toolbar, click the Insert/update link tool.



  5. From the Anchors menu, select the name of the anchor.

    Note: To insert a named link to anchor located on a different page, first browse to that page.



  6. In the Link URL field, the anchor's name, along with the appropriate # sign, is added.



  7. Enter the Title and select the appropriate Class. Click Insert.

  8. Click Save / Publish.
