Why does 1600grand ask for a PIN?
Sometimes, 1600grand will request a User ID and PIN when trying to access the registrar/human resources database. This has been seen to happen only in Firefox and especially older versions such as 1, 1.5,  and 2.  So  in order to fix the problem, try updating Firefox by opening the browser, going to help, click on check for updates and then follow the prompts to update. Otherwise the fix is different depending on whether it is in Firefox 2.0 or an earlier version. If these fixes do not work, Internet Explorer should not experience the same problem.

Firefox 1/1.5

  1. In Firefox, go to your preferences. (Tools->Options on Windows computers, and Firefox->Preferences on Macintosh)
  2. Under Privacy, go to the Cookies tab
  3. Uncheck the box labelled "for originating web site only"
  4. Close the preferences window
  5. Close and restart Firefox

Firefox 2.0

Note: There are known cases where this doesn't fix the problem, but it usually does.

  1. In the address field, type about:config and hit enter
  2. In the alphabetical list, find and double-click on network.cookie.cookieBehavior
  3. Change the integer value to 0 and click on OK
  4. Close and restart Firefox

Note: You can also right-click on the item and choose Reset.

Google Chrome

  1. Click the wrench icon tools menu on the browser toolbar. Mac users: If you don't see the wrench icon, go to the menu bar at the top of your screen and click Chrome.
  2. Select Options (Preferences on Mac).
  3. Click the Under the Hood tab.
  4. Click Content settings in the Privacy section.
  5. Click the Cookies tab in the Content Settings dialog that appears.
  6. Make sure that the Block all third-party cookies without exception checkbox is not selected. Even if you've added a site to the Exceptions dialog and have chosen to allow its cookies, a site's third-party cookies won't be accepted if this checkbox is selected.
